WASP Wireless Accessible Sensor Populations

Open material

Dissemination

To stimulate further developments of WASP results, the project released data sets, simulation models, open source ports, a development handbook and a public SVN project for use by interested third parties.

Data sets

  • Data sets from the public domain

Data used as simulated input for the development and testing of an ECG motion artifact cancellation algorithm.

  • Data sets from WASP

OMNeT++ simulation models developed in WASP, published through the Mobility Framework.

  • Open source

  • MSPGCC4

A port of the GCC 4.x branch to the Texas Instruments MSP430 microcontroller core. It is based on the MSPGCC project that was stuck with GCC 3.2.3.

  • WASP demo

  • Body Sensor Network platform tutorial

A BSN platform tutorial was organised in conjunction with the BSN 2010 conference in Singapore Biopolis on 9 June 2010. Ten people from different organisations and countries attended, with backgrounds ranging from computer science professors to researchers from a pharmaceutical company and an engineer from a military equipment supplier. The tutorial introduced the concept of the BSN and its associated technologies, followed by hands on sections on building pervasive sensing applications using the BSN development kits. In the last section the WASP project and its development tools and technologies were introduced, and the test beds were used to show how WASP technologies apply in real scenarios.

  • WASP development handbook

This development handbook describes the different steps needed for developing large sensor node ensembles using the WASP nodes and WASP techniques. On the basis of the different WASP layers (platform, protocols and services), this WASP cookbook describes the use of the WASP technologies and services and gives guidelines for adapting the WASP results towards new applications. The handbook enables third parties to accomplish the various steps needed for developing and adapting a WASP wireless sensor network.

Together with the WASP solutions made publicly available through the public SVN repository, the handbook supports the use of WASP project results beyond the project runtime. It was used and revised within the project and served as internal training material when developing the final elderly care test bed demonstrators.

    WASP public SVN project

The WASP public SVN project, including the WASP Development Handbook, was made available for research purposes.
